Chegamos na Chapada Diamantina!! / We arrived at Chapada Diamantina!!

Boa Noite!!

Escrevo agora de Lençóis, no parque Nacional da Chapada Diamantina, na Bahia!! No caminho de Brasília para cá, paramos em uma cidade chamada Ibotirama, já na Bahia, cidade cortada pelo Rio São Francisco e bem próxima daqui.
Dormimos lá e hoje bem cedo já estávamos de saída para o nosso primeiro dia de passeios na Chapada: A fazenda Pratinha e a gruta Lapa Doce.

Os estudantes divertiram-se bastante na tirolesa e fazendo snorkelling e ficaram encantados com as exuberantes formações da Lapa Doce. No final da tarde chegamos ao nosso MARAVILHOSO hotel 5 estrelas na cidade de Lençóis, onde vamos passar as próximas 3 noites: todos aproveitaram para nadar, jogar sinuca e aproveitar a infra-estrutura desse delicioso hotel!
Agora estamos indo descansar, pois amanhã vamos visitar o cartão postal da Chapada Diamantina: o Morro do Pai Inácio! Lá do alto do Mirante, à 1200m de altura, a vista é espetacular!!

Good Evening all!!

I write now from Lençóis, at Chapada Diamantina National Park, in Bahia state! On our way here, we stopped to spend the night and rest at a city called Ibotirama which is already in Bahia state.
Today really early we went to our first day of tours here: Pratinha farm and Lapa Doce cave.

The students had lot of fun at Pratinha making snorkeling and zip line, and got impressed with the beauty and exuberance of the cave’s formations at Lapa Doce.
In the afternoon, we arrived at our five stars hotel in Lençóis, where we are going to spend the next 3 nights: the students enjoyed the free time to swim, play snooker and enjoy the hotel’s infrastructure!
Now we are going to rest because tomorrow early we are going to visit Chapada Diamantina’s most famous point: Pai Inácio Hill! From the observation point, 1200m up, the view is AMAZING!

Boa Noite!!!

Após um dia intenso de passeios, parei um pouquinho para escrever para vocês!

Hoje aqui em Brasília o dia foi ótimo, apesar da chuvinha que nos acompanhou o tempo inteiro! Visitamos o Congresso Nacional, LBV, museu JK, Catedral, dentre outros pontos turísticos dessa linda e projetada capital do Brasil.

Agora, acabamos de ter nossa primeira reunião da viagem, onde passamos a programação de amanhã, fizemos achados e perdidos e elegemos o “Chupetão” do dia: a história mais engraçada que aconteceu nos últimos dias com algum dos estudantes ou até mesmo com alguém da coordenação. Quem ganhar a eleição tem que passar 24 horas com uma chupeta grande pendurada no pescoço! Essa reunião vai ser bem comum na viagem; vamos fazê-la praticamente todos os dias!


Agora estamos indo descansar, pois amanhã vamos acordar bem cedo e seguir viagem para Lençóis, na Chapada Diamantina, parando antes em Ibotirama, já na Bahia para descansar e continuar nossa longa jornada no dia seguinte.

Good Evening!!

After a busy day of sightseeing, I stopped a bit to write some news for you!

Today we had a day full of activities in Brasília, and despite of the rain it was a great day! We visited Brazilian National Congress, LBV, JK museum, the Cathedral, among other sights of this beautiful and projected capital of Brazil!!


Now we just had our first meeting of the trip, when we explained the schedule of tomorrow, made lost and founds and an we choose the “Chupetão” of the day: it is an election of the funniest story that happened in recent days with some of the students or even with us, the coordinators. The person who wins gets a “baby pacifier”. This meeting will be quite common during the trip: we’ll make it almost every day!!

Now we are going to rest, because tomorrow we will wake up really early to travel to Lençois, at Chapada Diamantina National park, before stopping in Ibotirama, already in Bahia state to rest and continue our long journey the next day!

Chegamos em Brasília!! / We arrived in Brasília!!

Boa Noite!!!!

Acabamos de chegar a Brasília, capital do Brasil e primeira cidade que visitaremos nessa longa viagem do Nordeste!

Ontem o dia foi longo. Como falei, pela manhã tivemos os exames médicos; à tarde, orientação geral da viagem e à noite a aula de forró!! Aliás, todos ADORARAM a aula e já estão preparados e ansiosos para praticar a dança pelo Nordeste! (veja algumas fotos aqui)!!




Agora estamos nos preparando para dormir, pois amanhã o dia também vai ser longo: faremos um tour o dia inteiro!

Good Evening!!

We just arrived in Brasília, the capital of Brazil and the first city we will visit at this long Northeast trip!

Yesterday we had a full day. As I told you, in the morning we had the medical examinations; in the afternoon, the trip general orientation and at night the Forró class! Besides, everyone just loved the class and they are ready and eager to practice this rhythm in the Northeast of Brazil! (check some pictures here)!




Now we are ready to sleep and rest, because the day tomorrow will also be a full day! We will have tour here all day long!

Nossa Aventura Começou! / And Our Adventure Begins!

Bom Dia!!!

Sejam bem vindos ao blog do Nordeste Novembro/Dezembro 2011! Escrevo agora do nosso hotel em Belo Horizonte e a viagem já começou! Nesse exato momento os estudantes estão fazendo os exames médicos e hoje a tarde teremos a Orientação Geral da Viagem, quando vamos dar dicas de como cuidar da saúde, como economizar, como aproveitar melhor a viagem e explicar as regras! Hoje a noite ainda teremos uma aula de forró, para todos aprenderem esse ritmo que vamos escutar e dançar muito durante a viagem! Estamos bem animados!

Então hoje OFICIALMENTE começou nossa grande aventura!

Good Morning!!!

Welcome to the Northeast November/December 2011 trip’s blog. I am writing from our hotel in Belo Horizonte, and our trip has started! Right now the students are attending medical exams and this afternoon we will have the Orientation of the trip. At the Orientation we will give them tips of how to take care of their health, how to save money, how to enjoy the trip and we will explain the Rotary/trip rules.
Tonight we will attend a Forró class, which is a typical rithym and dance of the northeast of Brazil. We are all very excited!

So today, our adventure OFFICIALLY begins!
